The NE Dept. of Economic Development is seeking proposals from private entities to administer the recently passed Small Business Assistance Act, providing grants of up to $25K to individuals starting a business and $12,500 to small business owners in operation for five years or less. Applicants must also provide business counseling. Apply by January 18, 2023, at 2 p.m.

Nebraska Health and Human Services is offering $2,500 scholarships per semester to nursing students in Nebraska with a commitment of staying at least two years in the field post-graduation. Apply.

Omaha Development Foundation has been named the recipient of a $400,000 planning grant to develop a new airport business park in Omaha and bring jobs closer residents of North and South Omaha.

$6M in rescue funding has been awarded to The Simple Foundation to administer internships and crime prevention programs in partnership with the City of Omaha.

Applications are open now through February 2 for total of $8M in affordable housing programs for refugees and immigrants with similar status. Half the funding will be directed to counties with 100,000 population or less, and 29 counties have eligible tracts. Letters of intent are due December 29.
