Bryan Slone to Leave NE Chamber Position Following 2025 Legislative Session
LINCOLN, Nebraska – Bryan Slone publicly announced today that he intends to step down as President/CEO of the Nebraska Chamber of Commerce & Industry (“NE Chamber”) following the 109th Legislative Session in June of 2025. A search committee has begun a search process to identify his successor and has started accepting applications.
During his tenure, the NE Chamber has continued to serve as the “Voice of Business” in legislative and regulatory matters and policy-making processes. Slone noted that his time at the NE Chamber has been a “great personal privilege due to the incredible support of the membership, the very talented staff members on the chamber team, and the many unique opportunities for the organization to make a difference for Nebraska’s businesses and economic competitiveness.”
Slone has worked with the NE Chamber Board since the latter portion of 2024 to ensure the best possible transition process as well as staying focused on the upcoming Legislative Session. Slone said:
“We have in place an excellent team at the NE Chamber with a good strategic vision and capable young leaders who are developing into extraordinary Chamber executives. In addition, the NE Chamber Board is strong, cohesive, and engaged. This is a good time for the NE Chamber to make this kind of transition and I am very confident in the future of this organization.”
Slone noted that he does not intend to retire but intends to pursue other significant professional opportunities.

Within the NE Chamber, there are two industry-specific divisions including the Nebraska Manufacturing Alliance and Tech Nebraska. The NE Chamber has a Political Action Committee which is governed by a separate board of directors and participates in the support of political candidate campaigns for the state legislature. In addition, there is a for-profit corporate subsidiary of the NE Chamber which has its own board of directors.
The NE Chamber is currently assisting in two government grant-funded projects. The first is a joint effort with the Nebraska Department of Education (“NDED”) to imbed an education specialist within the Chamber to help build communication between Nebraska education and business leaders, to advance NDED educational programing within the state, and to provide support for continued advances in educational outcomes related to workforce development and career technical education. The second relates to the work of the “navigator” positions in the 6 Regions 1 Nebraska program which is a joint effort between the Nebraska Governor’s office, the Nebraska Department of Economic Development, and the NE Chamber to advance regional economic development initiatives and leadership.
Finally, the Nebraska Chamber Foundation operates as an independent charitable foundation with its own Executive Director and Board of Directors.
