Governor Dave Heineman joins Lori Warner, President/CEO of the Beatrice Area Chamber, and Marion Kroeker, Executive Director of the Ogallala/Keith County Chamber of Commerce, in recognizing Chamber of Commerce Month in Nebraska. Warner is the 2009 chairman of the Nebraska Chamber of Commerce Executives (NCCE), while Kroeker serves as chairman of the Chamber Executives’ Advisory Council.

At the Legislative Leaders Panel, U.S. Rep. Jeff Fortenberry of Nebraska’s 1st Congressional District discusses matters with the Legislature’s Revenue Committee Chairman Abbie Cornett of Bellevue. Rep. Fortenberry addressed State Chamber members about negotiations on Capitol Hill surrounding the economic stimulus plan, while Senator Cornett briefed members about the challenges her committee faced in the early days of the new session.

Governor Dave Heineman presented awards to a select group of business leaders inducted into the Nebraska Business Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame was established in 1992 by the State Chamber and the University of Nebraska College of Business Administration. The 2009 Nebraska Business Hall of Fame class members are Gates Minnick, DuTeau Chevrolet/Subaru, Lincoln; The Simon Family, Omaha Steaks International, Omaha; Don Smeal (deceased), Smeal Fire Apparatus, Snyder, Neb.; and Willard Waldo, Waldo Farms, DeWitt, Neb.
