The role of the council is...
To initiate, formulate, and recommend to the Board of Directors a program of action within the sphere of activity indicated by the name of the Council/Task Force/Committee along with the recommended policy positions to implement such a program.

Agri-Business CouncilThe Agri-Business Council evaluates issues that impact agriculture and acts as a forum for the exchange of views and information for State Chamber agri-business members. Chamber Executives Advisory CouncilThe Chamber Executives Advisory Council is comprised of those who work for local chambers of commerce in Nebraska. The council’s objectives are to promote the interests of local chambers of commerce, the businesses and communities they represent, and their staff members. Economic Development CouncilThe Economic Development Council works to develop an economy that will stimulate new, improved and expanded business opportunities and jobs for Nebraska citizens. Subcommittees of this council are Privatization, Tourism, Transportation, and Venture Capital. Education CouncilThe Education Council seeks ways that the business and education communities in Nebraska can work together for further development of the state. Environmental CouncilThe Environmental Council works to develop policies and programs that will ensure a clean, safe environment while being fair and equitable to business and the general public. Health Care CouncilThe Health Care Council studies the problem of rapidly rising costs of medical and hospital care and makes recommendations to the membership on all activities and programs that might be undertaken to contain the rising costs of providing medical benefits to employees. Labor Relations CouncilThe Labor Relations Council seeks sound and fair-minded labor policy that preserves our free enterprise system and encourages voluntary rather than government-imposed settlement of labor disputes. Manufacturers CouncilThe Manufacturers Council evaluates legislative proposals and recommends policy positions to the State Chamber Board of Directors on issues that impact the state’s manufacturers. Political Action CouncilThe Political Action Council (State Chamber-PAC) raises funds, seeks and encourages candidates, assists with campaigns, and contributes to the election campaigns of those candidates for the Nebraska Legislature who support the private enterprise system. Members are invited by the State Chamber Board Chairman to serve on this group. Public Affairs CouncilThe Public Affairs Council meets each week during the legislative session to discuss issues of concern to the business community. Membership is open to all member trade associations and firms with registered lobbyists. Small Business CouncilThe Small Business Council works to develop a positive economic climate for Nebraska businesses employing 75 or fewer employees. Taxation CouncilThe Taxation Council works for legislation that establishes a fair, equitable and competitive tax structure with no discriminatory or punitive features and for effective and fair enforcement of tax laws for equity among taxpayers.
